The first truck has left the yard. Another 20 will follow. They will deliver the newest washing line from Herbold Meckesheim to Kırklareli, Türkiye, almost 2,100 kilometers away. There, in the European part of Türkiye, the latest recycling plant of the Meckesheim-based special machinery manufacturer is being built for the company Doğa.
Coperion has successfully launched operation of its new Recycling Innovation Center. In this high-tech test center for plastics recycling applications, every recycling process step – from material handling and feeding to extrusion, compounding, pelletizing, material postprocessing and deodorization – can be tested. Extensively equipped recycling systems are available that can be modified in myriad ways, depending upon the specific requirements of the recyclate to be produced.
At Fakuma 2023 (17-21 October 2023, Friedrichshafen, Germany) Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim will present innovative product and process solutions that make both the compounding and the recycling of plastics markedly more efficient and increase the product quality achieved.
Herbold Meckesheim is reporting an excellent order situation for PET and film washing lines towards the end of the current fiscal year. Towards the end of the US fiscal year, because since last summer Herbold belongs to the US group Hillenbrand Inc. Last October, a separate Recycling Business Unit was set up under the umbrella of Hillenbrand with the machinery building company Coperion to cover the entire process chain of plastics processing. This gives the Meckesheim-based plant manufacturer an even stronger basis and more impetus for its steady growth.
After 40-plus years of dedicated service, Werner Herbold, Managing Director, has entered a planned retirement. Mr. Herbold served as managing director and co-owner of Herbold Meckesheim, a recycling company that specializes in equipment and systems for the plastics industry.
At this year’s Chinaplas (April 17-20, 2023, Shenzhen, P.R. China) Coperion GmbH, Stuttgart/Germany will be presenting itself as a technology provider for a wide range of forward-looking applications in the processing of plastics. Herbold Meckesheim sealed a major contract for the recycling of post-consumer films directly at the K 2022: Olivier Vilcot, General Manager of the Plastics Recycling Division of SUEZ, and Werner Herbold, Managing Director of the correspondent company, signed a contract for the installation of two washing lines at the booth of the Meckesheim-based special machinery manufacturer. The recycling lines will be built in Landemont, between Angers and Nantes in western France.
Herbold Meckesheim is thoroughly satisfied with the results of K 2022. The fact that the leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry focused on the circular economy naturally played into the order books of the manufacturer of recycling systems and machines. In addition, Herbold Meckesheim has formed together with the Stuttgart-based machine manufacturer Coperion a new Recycling Business Unit in October, which offers complete solutions for plastics processing, as it continues to develop.
