In the case of extreme materials such as stretch film or foam materials, adequate drying by mechanical and thermal means is not possible without the use of high amounts of energy. The Herbold plastcompactor is a modern compacting machine offering the solution to this problem. Due to the friction at and between the compactor discs, the material is warmed, dried and simultaneously compacted. When recycling PET bottles, the benefits are twofold: the material is crystallised at the same time. In all applications, the bulk weight and flow characteristics are significantly improved.
