Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim at Plastindia 2023

At Plastindia 2023 (February 1-5, 2023, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India), Coperion – technology leader in extrusion and compounding, bulk material handling and feeding systems – will present innovative solutions and new developments at Booth 7H-FP-C-3 to greatly increase the efficiency of polyolefin manufacturing and engineering plastics compounding.
Together with machine manufacturer Herbold Meckesheim – recently merged with Coperion – various processes and plant solutions for reclaiming plastics of all kinds will be on display. These complete systems for mechanical and chemical plastics recycling stand out for their high levels of automation, conscientious use of resources, and the extremely high product quality they achieve.

Deux lignes de lavage pour SUEZ

Herbold Meckesheim a scellé une commande importante pour le recyclage des films post-consommation directement sur le salon K 2022 : Olivier Vilcot, directeur général de la division Plastics Recycling de SUEZ, et Werner Herbold, directeur de l’entreprise du même nom, ont signé un contrat pour l’installation de deux lignes de lavage sur le stand du constructeur de machines de Meckesheim. Les deux lignes de recyclage seront installées à Landemont, entre Angers et Nantes, dans l’ouest de la France.

Round and round

Herbold Meckesheim is thoroughly satisfied with the results of K 2022. The fact that the leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry focused on the circular economy naturally played into the order books of the manufacturer of recycling systems and machines. In addition, Herbold Meckesheim has formed together with the Stuttgart-based machine manufacturer Coperion a new Recycling Business Unit in October, which offers complete solutions for plastics processing, as it continues to develop. This has been received with great interest by the market.

Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim to present complete solutions for plastics recycling at K 2022

Complete systems for industrial-scale plastics recycling from a single source – the recently completed merger between Coperion and machine manufacturer Herbold Meckesheim makes it possible. Coperion, technology leader in extrusion and compounding, bulk material handling and feeding systems, brings its own expertise in the field of recycling together with that of Herbold Meckesheim, specialist in the mechanical recycling of plastic and plastic waste, forming a new Recycling Business Unit.

Acquisition of Herbold Meckesheim successfully completed

Stuttgart, September 2022 –The acquisition of the engineering company Herbold Meckesheim, has formally been completed. Herbold Meckesheim will be integrated with Coperion’s recycling product lines into its new Recycling Business Unit that plans to offer complete solutions for plastics recycling processing.

Company founded with Herbold machines

It is the largest single-line recycling plant that Herbold Meckesheim has set up to date: In Düzce, Turkey, a PET washing plant designed for the Futurapet company and built last year has now gone into operation. Futurapet is a spin-off of the consumer goods corporation Engin Group and based in Istanbul.

Coperion takes over Herbold Meckesheim

Herbold Meckesheim has settled its succession: The German engineering company announced it would become part of the Coperion Group, headquartered in Stuttgart. Coperion, in turn, belongs to Hillenbrand Inc, a global industrial group headquartered in Batesville, Indiana, USA.

PET washing systems in demand

Herbold Meckesheim is satisfied with its results after IFAT 2022 in Munich. Despite the current economic uncertainties, the special machine builder has recorded a constant number of incoming orders. After many negotiations, the projects are now seen to get reality – almost 60 percent of these projects are located outside Germany.

In the beginning is the shredder

For use in plastic recycling plants, the demand for powerful shredders has grown. Especially those that can process entire bales at the beginning of the reprocessing chain. Modern washing plants in particular, such as produced by Herbold Meckesheim, require sophisticated shredder technology to be able to process high throughputs and challenging feed materials. At the same time, the machines should be largely wear-resistant and as simple as possible to operate and maintain.

Herbold Meckesheim at IFAT Munich

The hot washing system for polyolefins is one of the product innovations presented by Herbold Meckesheim at IFAT Munich. Hot washing results in qualities of recyclates that are suitable for use in the food sector. At booth 153 in hall B5, IFAT trade fair visitors can become familiar with the machine builder’s modular systems from Monday, May 30, to Friday, June 3.
