Recycling of composite materials

Composite materials such as metal and plastics or plastics and glass fibre composite materials are very popular: It is easy to produce lighter material-saving parts with these compound materials. The recycling of the emerging production waste has also to be taken into consideration €“ as well as the recycling of post-consumer parts. With the latest state-ofthe- art technology from HERBOLD Meckesheim GmbH these materials can be sorted in a cost-effective way and recycled for reuse into homogeneous material categories with a high degree of purity….

HERBOLD MECKESHEIM: new pulverizing concept with vertical pulverizer

There are mainly two fields in the plastics industry where pulverizing is required most: when recycling rigid PVC waste, pulverizing into powder creates a high-quality regenerated material that can directly be introduced into the heating mixer. In the field of rotational molding and fluidized bed coating, the virgin material is pulverized to a fineness of 500 my (35 mesh) or 300 my (60 mesh) before its treatment. …

Herbold Label Remover (patent peding)

A new more sophisticated machine technology is needed for the reusable materials recycling of PET bottles. New bottle designs are complicating the task of bottle recyclers: labels covering the whole surface of the bottle are an obstacle to optic sorting, and if these new labels have additionally been made of PVC, then the usual quality standard during reusable materials recycling cannot be maintained with the available technology. With the new label remover HERBOLD Meckesheim GmbH has presented a new process step. The HERBOLD label remover makes a preliminary treatment of the bottles before size reduction possible: removing and separating labels is the important step for high quality recycling of PET bottles….
